GlyCop Cooperative: Glyconutrient Research and Educational Tools.
What's a glyconutrient? The known "essential sugars" are Mannose, Glucose, Galactose, Xylose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine, Fucose (not fructose) and N-acetylneuraminic acid. Although, science is discovering more, such as Trehalose and others.
Most glyconutrients are not individual sugars and do not always taste sweet, but they are simply "Food Supplements" that often are bitter and/or sour to the taste. Many glyconutrients contain dietary fibers consisting of polysaccharides - oligosaccharides and may be found in common foods.
Great details about the "Essential Sugars" may also be found at these fine websites.
Dr. David Bird has a detailed list of food sources. The Endowment For Medical Research is very informative. Dr. Graveline at SpaceDoc has much to say about "Statin's and Glyconutrients". SpaceDoc also explains the "Aging Process" in great detail. And, Got Sugars simply tells it like it is. Know what you eat by logging into Nutrition Data.
